SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One of the seminal Bay Area bands of the '60s and '70s is set to release a previously unearthed live album recorded in 1967. Sly and the Family Stone will release the album, "Live at Winchester Cathedral 1967" next month.
The album, according to Pitchfork, is the groundbreaking psychedelic rock and funk outfit's earliest concert recording. It was recorded at Winchester Cathedral in Redwood City, where Sly and the Family Stone had a residency as house band early in their career.
The album is due to be released on High Moon Records and will be available on CD, vinyl, or digital format.
