BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office says they were called to JD's Truckstop early Friday morning for reports of a shooting.

At approximately 3:38 a.m., authorities arrived on scene and found a victim who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

"Officers learned that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident that occurred nearby while the two vehicles were travelling on US-12, in Bertrand Township," the BCSO said.

The BCSO evidence tech team was called in to process the scene and members of the BCSO detective bureau are actively investigating the crime.

"We will be providing updates as this investigation progresses," the BCSO said. Share
