The newest member of the Amarillo Public Library (APL) has pointy ears, large wings and shiny yellow eyes. All it's missing is a name.

A fun contest has been launched by the Amarillo Public Library to name its dragon, the new mascot for kids as part of the Summer Reading Club, according to Stacy Clopton, APL's coordinator of PR and planning. The dragon came to life when library staff members put their heads together and came up with an appropriate mascot for their Kids Reading Club during the summer and throughout the year.

The friendly dragon is looking for a fitting name, and so far, these suggestions have been given:

Fable

Saga

Spark

Ember

Lexicon (or Lex)
