NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Although a big part of competition week for Miss Nebraska is the glitz and glamour, it is also centered around community service.
This week, contestants spent their time performing community service and outreach programs.
Miss Nebraska Rachael Warren and Miss Nebraska’s Teen Janae Harris met with children enrolled in the Community Connections Mentoring Program at the North Platte Public Library on Thursday to talk about the importance of mentoring and literacy.
They are two platforms Warren and Harris are passionate about.
“That was kind of our message when we (Janae and I) went to Kids Klub yesterday, and that was try new things and find what your passion is that’s what I talk about all of the time with my service initiative with the books I read to young p
