EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — A maxim of child therapy is to meet children where they are, meaning to tailor an approach to fit each child’s particular needs and developmental stage. At Cornerstone Counseling Center, the therapists use that approach, but a recent surge in the center’s growth can be attributed, in part, to interpreting that maxim literally. Cornerstone brought therapists to where the children physically are most days - at school.

“It's crazy to see the amount of growth that Cornerstone has experienced just in the six years that I've been here,” said Kate Tansley, Cornerstone’s Director of Operations. “There were nine clinicians, and now I want to say we are well into the 80s.”
