Windsor police announced Friday that they've made multiple arrests in a recent $500,000 whisky heist, but are still searching for more suspects.
The Windsor Police Service said that on Thursday, officers arrested five people in the city and surrounding county. The suspects are charged with a list of crimes related to the alleged theft of more than 1,000 boxes of Crown Royal products from a truck trailer.
Police say that on May 17, several suspects stole the loaded commercial truck trailer from a fenced-in facility in the 3300 block of Devon Drive, near Devonshire Mall. The empty trailer was found the next day in the 4000 block of County Road 46, police said.
"The stolen whisky, which had a retail value of more than $500,000, remains missing," police said in a press release Friday.
