CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A major infrastructure project is set to transform pedestrian access between Mt. Adams and Cincinnati, as construction begins on a new shared-use path bridge. The Ohio Department of Transportation has initiated the first phase of work, which includes the demolition of existing pedestrian bridges over I-71/471 and Gilbert Avenue.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Gilbert Avenue will be closed between Court and Broadway streets to facilitate the demolition. The pedestrian bridge over I-71/471, connecting Van Meter Street in Mt. Adams to Gilbert Avenue, will also be closed through the weekend.
Pedestrians traveling to and from Mt. Adams can use alternative routes via sidewalks along Court, Reedy, Broadway, and 6th streets to reach Monastery Street and Van Meter Street. Meanw
