TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Frontman for the Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha, Morten Harket, has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson's disease is a result of the loss of dopamine-producing cells in the brain, affecting areas in control of movement and communication. At least 10 million people are affected worldwide.

According to A-ha's official site, the singer had undergone a neurosurgical procedure in June of 2024 on the left side of his brain, and a similar procedure in December on the right side. Both were successful in dramatically improving physical symptoms.
