Mario Jimenez, a graduating senior from Temecula Valley High School, is this year’s winner of the Temecula Valley Genealogical Society’s scholarship essay contest.

Jimenez will read his winning essay at the Temecula Valley Genealogical Society’s June 9 meeting at the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library, according to a news release.

The community is invited to attend the 6 p.m. meeting and hear Jimenez read his essay.

Every year the Temecula Valley Genealogical Society sponsors an essay contest for local graduating seniors who have immediate continuing education plans. The winner receives a $500 scholarship and is invited to accept the scholarship and read his or her essay at the society’s June meeting.
