KITTERY, Maine — A man considering jumping off the Piscataqua River Bridge June 6 was safely talked down by a Kittery police officer, moments after the same man was involved in a car crash on the Interstate 95 span, according to police.

John Desjardins, Kittery's acting police chief, said the man was involved in the car crash minutes before. Officer Zack Harmon first made contact with the man and convinced him to come back onto the bridge and into his cruiser, away from potential harm.
