An investigation has been launched after reports a woman was seriously sexually assaulted.

Police were called to Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone and remain at the scene as they comb the area with a cordon in place.

Officers are this evening seeking to piece together evidence after being called shortly before 1pm.

Paramedics were also called to the scene but further details of the victim’s injuries and nature of the alleged attack have not been disclosed.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said detectives remain at the scene and confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

They added: “Officers were called to the scene at 12.56pm on Friday, June 6. South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
