A New Orleans doctor accused of trying to help his sister evade trial for manslaughter in Jefferson Parish, through a scheme to remove her ankle monitor, has been formally charged in the case, according to court records.

The Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office charged Kerry Sterling , 49, with being an accessory after the fact to manslaughter on May 30. He is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 12.

His sister, Kyana Traylor, 37, was also charged with tampering with electronic monitoring equipment.

The siblings' allegedly implemented the escape scheme days before Traylor was to stand trial in death of 32-year-old George Singleton, her boyfriend's mentally disabled brother.
