FLATBUSH — CENTRAL BROOKLYN PARENTS will have a new option this year for early childhood education with the opening of a new facility at P.S 6 in Flatbush this fall, reports NY YIMBY .

The program at the new center will eventually offer programs for 3-K to second-grade students, focusing on the inclusion of children with autism and other disabilities, as well as general education.

Announced by Mayor Eric Adams and Schools Chancellor Melissa Avilés-Ramos, this is the area’s first Acquisition, Integrated Services, Meaningful Communication, and Social Skills program. Enrollment will begin with the 3-K class and grow yearly, yielding 55 total new seats in District 17 by 2027–2028.

The purpose-built annex features specialized classrooms and trained educators.
