SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. — A quick-thinking child helped foil a home burglary Wednesday morning, leading to the swift arrest of a suspect, according to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress at a home on Garrison Branch Road. The intruder was reportedly rummaging through kitchen cabinets when he was confronted by a young child who had entered the room.

The child immediately ran to their bedroom for safety, prompting the suspect to flee through the front door. Thanks to the child’s detailed description, investigators were able to identify a suspect within an hour.
