CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The latest recidivism report from the Virginia Department of Corrections shows a 17.6 percent three-year reincarceration rate for state-responsible inmates released in fiscal year 2020, the lowest in the United States.

The VADOC wrote in a statement: “This achievement is a collective win, not just for the dedicated public servants who are devoted to this agency’s mission, but for all Virginians."
