Hays Co. building evacuated due to suspicious package

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- On Friday afternoon, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra said the public safety building on Stagecoach Road had been evacuated due to a suspicious package.

A public information officer with the Hays County Sheriff's Office said the package was found shortly before 1:00 p.m. Access to the building has now been limited.

As more information becomes available, Becerra said he would provide more timely updates.
