Rock Island to begin accepting archery deer hunting season applications

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - The City of Rock Island will start accepting applications for the 2025-26 archery deer hunting season on June 23.

According to a media release, applications are available at the front desk of the Rock Island Police Department, Parks and Recreation Department, or online.

Potential hunters must return their completed applications and proficiency cards to the police department by 5 p.m. Aug. 25 to be considered for a permit.

Approved hunters will have to attend a mandatory meeting at a later date.

Deer hunting will be permitted on a select number of sites, with city approval.
