RENSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Rensselaer and East Greenbush officials issued a water conservation advisory on Friday. The notice stems from necessary repairs being made to the main water valves at the Cross Street Pump Station in Troy.

Residents are asked to limit use of dishwashers and laundry machines while maintenance is under way. Using lawn sprinklers and hoses and filling pools and hot tubs should also be avoided.

The conservation notice will be in place through June 16. There is no boil water advisory in effect.

Rensselaer and East Greenbush officials will monitor water levels daily and will issue updates as they become available. Anyone with questions can contact the Rensselaer and East Greenbush Departments of Public Works respectively by calling (518)462-9617 or (518)477-7296.
