State police are investigating after two vehicles were damaged and two children injured in separate incidents on Route 101 Thursday night.

State police responded to the two incidents between 9:40 p.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday. The first occurred on Route 101 westbound in Exeter, the second minutes later on Route 101 westbound in Auburn, officials said.

In both cases, drivers were traveling in the right lane when the occupants of a passing vehicle “caused the windows of the victim’s vehicles to shatter.”

A state police spokesman would not elaborate what caused the windows to shatter, saying only that “all aspects of these incidents remain under investigation.”
