LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky's largest school district is offering free meals for pickup this summer.
Jefferson County Public Schools' (JCPS) School and Community Nutrition Services is offering these meals at 119 sites around Louisville, according to officials. Those sites will include schools, parks and community partners' buildings.
“Hunger doesn’t take a vacation, so making sure children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months is very important,” Terina Edington, the executive administrator of JCPS Nutrition Services, said. “We provide food to keep them thriving when they’re not in school and don’t have breakfast and lunch provided every day.
