PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A national tribute for emergency medical services professionals who died in the line of duty will be passing through Pierre on Sunday, June 8.
According to reporting from DRG News , American Medical Response is hosting the National EMS Moving Honors Procession at 4:00 pm at Capitol Lake, near South Dakota’s State Capitol.
The event is part of a 6,500-mile journey from California to Virginia to honor fallen EMS providers during the National EMS Memorial Service and Weekend of Honor.
The National EMS Memorial Service’s procession started June 1, 2025, in Riverside, California, and is making 29 stops in 19 states to honor 29 EMS professionals who died in the line of duty in 2024.
