The Les Bolstad golf course on the University of Minnesota campus is shutting down for good. The U of M is selling nearly 141 acres of land in Falcon Heights, which includes the course property.
The Office of Student Affairs sent a letter Friday announcing the closure, saying it will go into effect when the course closes down for the season — as it typically does each fall.
"We recognize this course holds generations of memories for our community. This decision reflects careful consideration and was made in light of today’s challenging financial environment," said Calvin Phillips, vice president of the U of M's Office of Student Affairs (OSA).
