SAN ANTONIO - A child has tragically succumbed to a fatal medical episode at a Montessori school.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, around 10 a.m. on Friday, a 6-year-old child was found unresponsive in the bathroom of Excelled Montessori School in Boerne.

Employees called for emergency services, which quickly began life-saving measures, and rushed her to the hospital in critical condition.

Tragically, she succumbed to the episode and was pronounced dead at University Hospital.

Investigators do not believe that the child's death was the result of any actions of the school or its staff, believing her death to be related to a possibly chronic medical condition.
