Cold cuts are out. Hot, pressed paninis are in at Al Paninos, a new Richmond Row sandwich shop aiming to “fill a void” in downtown London’s lunch scene.
Located at 525 Richmond St., the eatery specializes in hot sandwiches made fresh on a panini press. Owner Zack Agathos, who has run other restaurants in London, says he saw an opening in the market.

“I knew there was a niche in the market for hot sandwiches without making it complicated,” Agathos said. “Most sandwich shops only do cold cuts.”
The menu features 16 options, all built on bread from London Portuguese Bakery on Hamilton Road . Everything, from the marinara sauce to the balsamic glaze, is made in-house.
