A new fee schedule imposed by the province earlier this year cost Big Rock $320,000 in taxes — now it's changed again

Local breweries can turn up the taps after Alberta’s government axed a new fee schedule that meant more taxes on production.

Implemented earlier this year, the hike had an outsized impact on Calgary’s oldest craft brewery, Big Rock, which faced a 22 per cent increase in fees paid to the province — essentially overnight.

Big Rock calculated it would have had to pay an additional $1.4 million in taxes annually if the fee schedule remained.
