DANVILLE, Pa. — On Jerseytown Road near Danville in Montour County , a new Hindu Temple called Shanti Mandir is ready to welcome the faithful.

Board members Ashok Bhanushali and Zankhana Mehta are outside looking over some of the details of the temple. Ground broke less than two years ago, but the idea was years in the making.

Board members say they are full of gratitude to see the temple now complete.

"Seeing the community come together and more importantly the participation that we've seen and the culture that we're able to share, it's phenomenal," Bhanushali, the president, said.

Shanti Mandir means "peace temple." Board members say it is multi-faith and there are different idols from the different faiths. They say they want to bring people together and represent peace in the worl
