Steered by Steel Bayer and Chase Deibler, East Pennsboro pieced together an 18-hit attack Thursday and slammed WPIAL contender Elizabeth Forward 14-4 in a PIAA 4A baseball quarterfinal at Mt. Aloysius College.
All but two of the Panthers’ starting lineup earned at least one hit, with Bayer and Deibler cracking four apiece in the six-inning affair.
Bayer, who drove in three runs, and catcher Lucas Martz each scored four times.
The onslaught, which included a six-run fourth inning, drove the four-time District 3 champions to Monday’s semifinal clash with familiar foe Indiana.
The WPIAL champs decked quarterfinalist Central Valley 8-0 Thursday.
