Young females were lured to a St. Catharines park and sexually abused by a man who contacted them through social media, Niagara Regional Police say.

A suspect has been arrested and police said there could be more victims.

Police said officers were called to Vintage Park , at Louth Street and Vintage Crescent, in the city’s west end on Wednesday for a report of sexual interference.

An investigation concluded a man had been communicating with several Niagara females under the age of 16 using the Snapchat platform. He used the account names jason39696 and sid45843.

Police said the man was arranging to meet the girls at the park, where multiple sexual assaults occurred. They located a suspect in Mississauga and arrested him.
