WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man mistakenly deported to El Salvador , is being brought back to the United States where he will face federal criminal charges, a member of his legal team confirmed Friday to WUSA .
Garcia, a Salvadoran immigrant who was living in Maryland, was deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in March after being arrested after completing a shift as a sheet metal worker apprentice at a construction site in Baltimore, according to a complaint filed in federal court by his lawyers.
He was accused of being an Salvadoran gang MS-13 member, but never formally charged with a crime.
Now, he will be charged in connection to allegedly being part of a years-long conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the rest of the count
