The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, Monroe, Montgomery and Schuylkill counties until 10 p.m. Friday.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” the NWS alert said. “Thunderstorms moving across the area today have the capability of producing rainfall at rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.”
The NWS said to keep watch for the issue of flash flood warnings.
The forecast for tonight is a low of 77 degrees.
The weekend outlook from the NWS predicts cooler temperature, 73-81 degrees for Saturday and 71-79 for Sunday. Both days will be mostly cloudy with a chance of isolated strong thunderstorms.
