BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred in Morganton Saturday.

Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Kathy Road and McAlpine Avenue around 5:45 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they discovered one person with a gunshot wound. That person was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police identified the victim as 34-year-old Gregory Adonis Rutherford.

There were two other victims: 53-year-old Jerry Jerome Benjamin and 24-year-old Jonathan Michael Benjamin.

Nathan James Tate was charged with attempted first-degree murder. Tate was not issued a bond at the time of his arrest.
