BROOKLYN — Over 200 middle school students from Brooklyn Boatworks, a nonprofit serving mostly underserved city public school kids, will launch 7-foot wooden sailboats they built by hand at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 4 beach on June 10 and 11, reports Sail-World .
The event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, will feature a graduation ceremony and boat launch, showcasing the teamwork and STEM skills the program has been dedicated to teaching since 2005.
