UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica Police Department said one person was severely hurt after a vehicle struck them Thursday evening.
The Police Department said officers and firefighters were called to the intersection of James Street and Howard Avenue for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle around 10:20 p.m.
Officers found an unconscious male lying in the roadway who had been struck by the vehicle. He was taken to Wynn Hospital for treatment. As of Friday, police said he remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition with "a multitude of injuries."
Police found the vehicle and its driver on the 1600 block of Miller Street shortly after the incident.
