LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 22-year-old man from Jackson was arrested in connection to a shooting that left a 16-year-old in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety announced Friday.

Police say the shooting happened in the early morning hours on Wednesday, in the 100 block of Peacock Walk in Blackman Township. Officers were dispatched at around 1:28 p.m. for reports of a shooting and found the teen with a gunshot wound to the head, unresponsive but still breathing.

He was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition as of Friday.
