CINCINNATI (WKRC) - New Richmond High School senior Grant Harrison took first place in the pole vault in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Divison II state track and field meet on Friday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

Harrison, who is heading to the University of Kentucky, reached 16 feet, 7 inches, while no one else got past 14 feet, 10 inches. It's the second straight season that Harrison won the state championship in the event.

There were a handful of Division II field event finals that were held finals on Friday - girls' discus, girls' high jump, boys' long jump, boys' shot put and boys' pole vault - but there were no area individual winners other than Harrison.
