NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Former Saints quarterback Derek Carr has finally spoken out about his decision to retire from the NFL last month.

He told Front Office Sports that he didn’t want to have surgery on his shoulder and then be watching everything from the sideline while ‘taking’ the Saints’ money.

Carr’s decision to retire did free up $30 million in cap space for the Saints.
