East Coweta High School students had the chance to see their artwork on public display last week during a reception at The Vault Gallery in downtown Newnan.

The students' artwork, located at The Wadsworth Auditorium in Newnan, will remain on display until June 26.

More than 90 pieces of student work were part of the show, said Kaylene Brooks, a visual arts teacher at ECHS.

The pieces in the show were from students in the school's art intro class, Visual Arts I.

According to Brooks, the annual show is held to celebrate the students' talents before they go into other art classes.

"We call it the fundamentals exhibition because this is the fundamental class they take before other classes afterwards," Brooks said. "We wanted to celebrate the talent they have."
