NORTHFIELD, Ohio — Summit County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in Northfield Center Township that took the lives of two people on Friday.

According to a release, the Summit County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a shooting on Meadow Brooke Way at approximately 10:48 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found a man and woman inside the house had sustained gunshot wounds.

A 48-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 48-year-old man was taken to Akron City Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies also found a juvenile girl unharmed inside the residence. She was released to Summit County Children's Services.

The identities of the two victims are being withheld pending family notification.
