It’s declaration week for municipal elections in Wasatch County, and candidates are getting the ball rolling on six-month campaigns that will inevitably end in November.
Voters in most of the eight municipalities in the county will elect a new mayor and at least one new city council member.
In Heber City, two city council members and incumbent Mayor Heidi Franco have reached the end of their four-year terms. As of Friday morning, Morgan Murdock, Nick Lopez, Jami Hewlett, Lori Wikert Rutland, Corey Noyes, Christen Thompson and Ken Davis all filed their intent to run for city council seats. City Councilor Yvonne Barney also made her declaration to run for her own seat again.
