Small hail and a severe thunderstorm warning have punctuated another cloudy day in the Pikes Peak region Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a 15-minute severe thunderstorm warning around 2 p.m. warning that a severe thunderstorm was located over southeastern Colorado Springs, moving east at 15 mph. The NWS warned of hail, up to a half-dollar in size was possible.

Both southeastern Colorado Springs and Schriever Space Force Base are included in the warning.

All of El Paso County and much of the Front Range also remains under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.

Even before that warning, reports of light hail had been reported in the city, including pea-sized hail on the Colorado Springs School for the Deaf and Blind, and further east near the South Academy Boulevard and Pikes Peak Aven
