An acid spill at the Pilgrim's Pride chicken processing plant in Cold Spring, Minnesota, sent more than two-dozen people to the hospital Friday.
The incident was reported at 8:15 a.m. and prompted a Hazmat response at the plant on the 800 block of Sauk River Road.
Per the Cold Spring Police Department, a container of peracetic acid spilled, with the spill contained within the facility.
"When officers arrived on scene the buildings had already been evacuated," the police department said.
"Numerous employees were assessed at the scene and 26 people were transported by Mayo Clinic and Centracare Ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital to be evaluated for further treatment."
