MORGANTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Hoping to give new entrepreneurs across the state more access to funding and mentorship, Vantage Ventures shifted its entire operating model last year, turning into a 13-week accelerator program that has, to date, helped 18 fledgling tech businesses as they try getting off the ground.
Previously, the organization provided start-ups with a co-working space, frequent programming and business opportunities in Morgantown.
Vantage Ventures Executive Director Dr. Ryan Angus said that when he stepped into the position last spring and began talking to industry leaders across the state, he found ways to improve the model and open it up to benefit a wide variety of would-be entrepreneurs.
“I spent a lot of time talking to various stakeholders, getting a feel for how t
