TOWN OF WAUKECHON, Wis. (WBAY) - Two people died after their SUV crashed into a pickup truck on Friday, authorities said.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, multiple 911 calls came in around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, reporting a crash at the intersection of County Road BE and County Road B in the Town of Waukechon.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that two vehicles were involved in the crash. The preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on County Road BE when an SUV attempted to turn west onto County Road BE from County Road B.

The sheriff’s office said it appears the SUV failed to see the oncoming pickup and was struck in the eastbound lane while making the turn.

The pickup truck driver had minor injuries and was transported by ambulan
