A well-known BBC Radio Scotland presenter has shared that they will be stepping away from their show due to a cancer battle. Bryan Burnett, who's been with the BBC for 15 years, made an emotional announcement to his audience about his diagnosis with a "incredible rare" appendiceal cancer.
Bryan, a familiar voice on the Get it On programme which airs weekdays at 6pm, disclosed he found out he had cancer earlier this year following the removal of his appendix.
The NHS mentions appendix tumours as quite uncommon, making up only 0.4% of all bowel cancers. His treatment plan includes chemotherapy and significant abdominal surgery.
