If you were at any of the Miners girls lacrosse games this spring, it’s likely you saw assistant coach Daria Lucchesi pacing the sidelines.

Lucchesi, a former Division 1 national champion with James Madison University, brought her trademark energy to Park City’s sidelines in her one and only year with the team.

Knowing head coach Mikki Clayton was going to have to miss some chunks of the season on maternity leave, her players reached out to Lucchesi about coaching. Lucchesi, who runs a tech company, had coached many of them when they were much younger in lacrosse camps she ran across the country.

While she hates the Park City winters, Lucchesi accepted. She coached the Miners herself for about half the season. Lucchesi and Clayton also paired well together, working the sidelines as the
