Pride Month started this week, which means there are plenty of upcoming events and celebrations for the Houston area’s LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

The month’s festivities culminate June 28 with the 47th annual Pride Houston Festival & Parade, hosted by Pride Houston 365. A year after a competing nonprofit held its own parade, the city is back to having one downtown event .

There also will be local Pride events later this year, in August and October.
