ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - One week after a man was attacked by a group of men affiliated with the Outlaws Motorcycle Gang at a Waynedale pub, the establishment remains closed.

Pike’s Pub has been closed since James Simmons, a Black man, was brutally attacked last Friday night by a group of white men hurling racial slurs, who police say are affiliated with the Outlaws.

The incident was captured on video and was widely shared on social media, leading to a community outcry for an in-depth investigation.

Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger called the incident “deeply disturbing” and “rooted in hate” during a press conference on Wednesday . He said his department is working with the FBI for a thorough investigation to hold all those involved accountable.
