Niagara Falls is developing a new community improvement plan (CIP), through which financial incentives and other supports can help advance such goals as attracting businesses and jobs and revitalizing neighbourhoods.
CIP programs have been used by the city for many years — however, uptake has been limited and some programs no longer reflect today’s priorities or council’s strategic direction.
“We’re facing rising housing costs, climate change and the need to use land more efficiently,” reads a post on the city’s Let’s Talk public engagement website.
“At the same time, we have opportunities to support local employers, build more diverse housing options and shape a greener, more resilient future.”
