Right-handed pitcher Ryan Cusick’s time with the Detroit Tigers was short, spending three days with the club and making one appearance for Triple-A Toledo before getting designated for assignment.
Cusick’s next stop would be even shorter as he was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox on June 4 and DFA’d two days later following the promotion of Kyle Teel.
The Tigers claimed Cusick, 25, off waivers on May 30 after he spent three years in the Athletics’ organization, making it as high as Triple-A.
He was originally a first-round draft pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2021 out of Wake Forest, but he was dealt to the Athletics in the Matt Olson trade in 2022.
A 6-foot-6 righty with a fastball in the upper 90s, Cusick’s yet to find his command enough to make the major leagues. Throug
