OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A local school is taking its learning outdoors.
Port Dickinson Elementary officially introduced its new Outdoor Learning Center on Wednesday.
Located behind the school, the center includes a pond area, which serves as a walk-through nature preserve, and a building that acts as a flexible learning space for students.
Guests were invited to take a tour of the center and walk around the pond.
Chenango Valley Central School District Superintendent Larry Dake says the center highlights the district's continued focus on interactive, hands-on learning.
